The 70th edition of the Dadasaheb Phalke awards was held on 28 February 2024 in Mumbai. It is an international film festival where this time around 40 individuals were honoured for their constant support and contribution towards the growth and empowerment of Indian cinema. The grand event was attended by several stars including Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapoor etc. This is the only independent international film festival of India that was established in 2016 to pay respect to the father of Indian cinema late Shri Dadasaheb Phalke. These awards are given to recognition and appreciate the efforts of various film stars contributing in the industry. Best films, web series and television series:
The award for best film 2024 was given to “Jawan.”
The award for best film under the category of critics went to the movie “12th Fail.”
“Gum Hai Kisi Ke Pyar Mein” received the award for the best television series of the year while “Farzi” received the award for the best web series.
Best actors under different categories :
The title of best actor was won by Shahrukh Khan for his movie “Jawaan.”
Bobby Deol received an award under the category best actor in a negative role for his role in the Animal movie.

The award for best actor in a comic role was given to Ayushman Khurana for his role in the movie “Dream Girl 2.”
The award for best actor in a supporting role was given to Anil Kapoor for his role in the movie “Animal.”
Vikrant Massey received the title of most promising actor for his role in the movie “12th fail.”
Shahid Kapoor receive the title of best actor in a web series for his role in the web series Farzi.

Aditya Roy Kapoor received the award for the best actor in a web series under the category of critics for his role in the web series “Night Manager.”

The title of best actress under the category of critics was won by Kareena Kapoor for her movie “Jane Jaan.”
Sania Malhotra for her movie “Kathal” received the award of best actress in a comic role.
The award for best actress in a supporting role went to Dimple Kapadia for her role in “Pathaan” movie.
The award for most promising actress went to Adah Sharma for her role in the movie “The Kerala Story.”
Nayanthara received the title of most versatile actress.
Karishma Tanna received the role of best actress in a web series for her role in the web series “Scoop”.
The award for best actress in a television series was given to Rupali Ganguly. For her role in the most favourite and popular Hindi serial “Anupama.”
Sushmita Sen received an award under the title best actress in a web series. For her role in the web series “Arya season 3.”
Awards for best director, playback singer, music directors, short film, television series etc
The winner of the award of best director was Sandeep Reddy Vanga for his movie “Animal.”
The award for best director under the category of critics was given to Atlee for his movie “Jawan“.
Anirudh Ravichander won the award for best music director for his songs in the movie “Jawan.”
Varun Jain and Sachin Jigar for that song “Tere Vaaste from Zara Hatke Zara Bachke“ won the title of best playback singer male.
The title of best playback singer female was given to Shilpa Rao for her song “Besharam Rang from Pathan.”
The short film “Good Morning” received the title of best short film.
“Oppenheimer” received the title of best International feature film.
“The Railway Man” was awarded the title of best series under the category of critics.
